The homicide rate is down significantly in Syracuse so far this year, but this positive news was recently offset by a painful reminder of the issue of violence, in the June 2011 death of 20-year-old Kyheem Pringle. When Pestello assigned his staff to ask questions about specific ways for Le Moyne to support anti-violence efforts, one answer emerged repeatedly: “create a space where the young people of our community can be heard.” That advice resonates deeply with the College’s core, Jesuit values of reflection and discernment.

FBI launches an international sweep on Anonymous Hackers…over a dozen suspects arrested! 

From Fox….More than a dozen suspected members of “Anonymous” were arrested this morning in states including Florida, New Jersey and California, in what appears to be a nationwide takedown of the notorious hacking group, FoxNews.com has exclusively learned.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into Anonymous, which has claimed responsibility for numerous cyberattacks against a variety of websites including Visa and Mastercard.

These courses are developed by the NPS CHDS teaching faculty and are derived from course content (lecture material and course readings) from the Center’s homeland security master’s degree curriculum. Three relatives were arrested by Chandler police on Thursday in connection with a retail theft ring, ending a three-month investigation into an operation that involved thefts from two Valley grocery stores.  Police arrested brothers Sami Shiha, 32, and Samer Shiha, 23, and their cousin Hane Shiha, 32, on suspicion of stolen property-related offenses and conducting an illegal criminal enterprise, according to information from Chandler police…
